Exhibition Esférica at National Museum in Brasilia (2022)

‘My work is an invitation to see through things, to be conscious of the invisible but sensible. I work with subtle energy to harmonize both the user of space and space itself.’

Janet vollebregt is an artist with roots in architecture dedicated to Creating nurturing spheres, environments in which people can find calm, consciousness and connection.

Nurturing spheres

The integrative practice of Janet Vollebregt navigates the boundaries between art and architecture, drawing on a technical architectural formation and a lifelong study and practice of eastern and western philosophy and therapy, with a special emphasis on Japanese Jin Shin Jyutsu Physio-Philosophy.

Janet’s spatial installations and interactive works provoke energetic self-awareness of the public. Through the invisible power of energy fields, her work establishes harmony and connection to the larger whole and increases the feeling of welcoming and nurturing in the environment in which they are introduced.

Her work is informed by a unique integration of disciplines and perspectives, which allow her to create from a holistic and multidimensional perspective. Janet's approach to art and architecture is characterized by a sensitivity to the cultural and historical context of a project, as well as an emphasis on creating spaces that promote wellbeing and balance. Her practice is a synthesis of technical expertise and a broader philosophical and humanistic vision. Working in the rough nature of the inlands of Brazil for over 10 years and the understanding coming from nature and its native inhabitants also deeply influence the way she approaches creation.
